Today, I got up at 7 to trek over to Half Moon Bay, to watch the yearly surf contest at Mavericks. I had never been, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I knew it was far and I was going to need a real telephoto in order to get satisfying pictures, which I couldn't get. Nevertheless, I went so that next year I could maybe be more prepared, and it was awesome! The waves were at least 40 ft!! In fact, the waves were so big that they ended up taking out the stands on the beach and injuring about 40 people. I was on the cliffs far away from the beach, but when I headed over there, it was being evacuated. The cliffs where I sat is where a good amount of spectators were, but was really far away. I got a few pics and cropped them, but they are just too blurry. Oh well. On my way home, since the waves were so big at Mavericks, I decided to stop at Fort Point to see how big they were. Not the biggest, but I managed to snap a few shots of the bridge. Cliche, but whatever. Then, I stopped on the side of the road by the rainbow tunnel on the Marin side, and took a few pics (one of my favorite angles). Hope you enjoy...
